So, a question that comes up in my mind is “what is the cause of the cancer?” They are learning that genetics are about 5-10% of the cause and epigenetics cover the rest. There is so much that has been learned in recent years and that is still being learned.
As I have been contemplating my lifestyle over the last several years and what could be the offender, I remembered my crowns and that I have a list of the materials they are made of. I have learned that many dentists no longer will use crowns made of metal overlaid with porcelain like the crowns in my mouth. They are finding the zirconia is safer.
My crowns do not have mercury in them, which I was very aware of when I was having the work done. I had all the mercury taken out of my mouth in the 1990’s when I was learning of the dangers of mercury. Though I was aware of the harmful effects of mercury I didn’t give any thought to the effects of other metals. The metals in my crowns are as follows:
Nickel (N) 76%
Chromium (Cr) 14%
Molybdenum (Mo) 6%
Aluminum (Al) 2.5%
Beryllium (Be) 1.99%
I have seen two dentists, at this point. One conventional and one holistic minded, and the holistic dentist will take extra measure when removing the crown to keep me from experiencing any extra toxicity. The new crowns will be made of zirconia porcelain, which I am told by both dentists is super strong. It’s going to be a very involved and expensive process, as I have 7 crowns covering each quadrant of my mouth.
Dr. Sarah suggested I have Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI), or Thermography done from below my thyroid and up to check for the possibility of undetected inflammation or infection. Of which I did this last week and I am waiting for the report to come back from the doctor and then will formulate my dental plan.
My gut feel is that, once the metal is out and we have the inflammation under control, the other efforts I am making will be even more effective overall. Detoxing in a safe and healthy way is something I am already making efforts in and will be important to continue as we get the sources of inflammation out of my mouth. So, for now, the journey continues and I will do my best to keep you updated.
